Birthday in Dubai airport

Dd is travelling on her birthday with a seven hour stop in Dubai. I’ve never been and wondered if there’s anything I could book her as a treat. Is there anything that would be nice to do?

She could get a taxi to the Dubai Mall which is enormous! What time of year/day?

Happy birthday to your DD, that's a lovely idea - hope she enjoys her day.
She's not travelling to Heathrow, is she? If she is, she may be stuck there for much longer.

There are a couple of spas in the airport where she could have a massage. DH and I did this when we had a long stopover on honeymoon. Have a look at Timeless Spa.

Oh thank you. Will look at these options. It’s the beginning of May. During the day. Not through Heathrow.

Oh sorry I thought she was there now today, and Heathrow is closed.
It's a lovely idea 🥰

There's a small but lovely pool at the hotel (T3) that can be booked for a couple of hours, it has showers as well. The downside obviously is travelling with wet swimming stuff.
You could am sure, pay for lounge access.

Realistically Dxb Mall is not really an option. Depending on which terminal it is, allow an hour from landing to getting through immigration etc, and she needs to be at the gate an hour before flight leaves so 5 hours. Taxi to/from the mall would take 30mins upwards depending on traffic and time of day.

If she wants to get out then Festival City would be doable... another mall..with a lake but much nearer the airport.

Buy her a pass to one of the lounges - the first class one if you can, but the business class one is nice too. Find out who she's flying with and contact them about buying her a pass. Lovely shower rooms, calm places to chill out, nice food, and critically, unlimited champagne!

Here's a link to buy a Qantas pass if she happens to be flying Qantas. They use Emirates lounge, I suspect Emirates have a similar link somewhere. I've been to the business lounge in Dubai several times and it's very nice. I can imagine the first class lounge is really really nice! https://www.qantas.com/gb/en/qantas-experience/at-the-airport/airport-lounges/lounge-passes/buy-a-lounge-pass.html

Ooo yes, it's got a spa... And a Moet and Chandon bar. And a cocktail bar. And very nice looking food.
