Has anyone used this? I’ve just ordered a jar after hearing some good things about it ( although only online and not people I know so always a bit sceptical!)

What benefits did you see and how long did it take to notice them?

I am going to use this thread to share my experience when It’s delivered ( tomorrow)

Happy to have joiners!

When I looked into the different types there are vegan ones, are you saying they aren't genuine?

Collagen is an animal (including human) product. You can't get it from a plant.

Vegan/vegetarian supplements are just vitamins to help you make more collagen yourself.

cosietea · 22/03/2025 19:44

Just been doing some more research and there have been many studies over the years about the proven benefits of bovine collagen, specifically in athletes for muscle strength and joint pain but also for skin and hair.

it also recommends taking it with Vitamin C as this is essential in collagen synthesis. So I will be adding a Vitamin C in from next week, recommended 1000mg

Thought I’d give an update 10 days in

Obviously not a huge noticable difference being only a short time but I will say that my skin on my face has a certain glow and my hair has felt so much better condition. It’s very silky feeling and seems to hang better if that makes sense?! It’s a definite improvement so I’m eager to see what more improvements I’ll see in the coming weeks.

hair and skin aside i mainly wanted it to improve joint pain which after this short period there is no change.

After researching athletes who took 20ml per day, I have increased to this since about day 3. No bad side effects and still can’t taste or smell it

I quite like the hot chocolate. I can't tell whether it does anything for me though, apart from allowing me to feel virtuous at the same time as drinking a hot chocolate.

Me too. Is this the one with the cinnamon and beetroot? It’s part of the five a day so it’s a crime not to drink it

MaturingCheeseball · 01/04/2025 19:37

Just bought some and put two tablespoons on my cereal yesterday, the directed dose. The texture!! It was tasteless, but turned the milk to wallpaper paste. I couldn’t face it today. I suppose it might be ok in a sauce, or a curry, but added to liquid I don’t think works.

@MaturingCheeseball I mix mine with hot coffee and give it a decent stir before milk. Can’t say I have noticed it at all and mixes well. However I did accidentally leave some powder in a mug and it already had some liquid it and without stirring and that did go gloopy

I’ve been taking it for about 4 months now definitely can see an improvement in my skin and I can’t taste it at all but I’ve only tried it by putting it in my coffee, I thought because coffee has a strong smel and taste it would be better disguised than putting it in tea. If anyone wants £10 off here’s a code and I’ll get £10 off too which would be lovely.

Overthegardenfence · 01/04/2025 23:07

Oh on the instructions it says to sprinkle it on top of the coffee, from a height works well and not to be tempted to stir until it dissolves in, this works I find if you sprinkle a thin layer.

Overthegardenfence · 01/04/2025 23:10

@MaturingCheeseball
its teaspoons not tablespoons 😂

LittleGreenDragons · 02/04/2025 00:32

I'm interested in hearing your updates OP as I'm needing something for joint pain. I've tried the collagen gum.mies but they don't seem to have done anything (although they did taste nice!)

Ipperdipperdation · 27/04/2025 08:08

@cosietea any update on how you're getting on with this?

cosietea · 28/04/2025 11:45

I am now 5 weeks in and on my 3rd subscription as I have decided on two scoops a day (14g) which is where the studies show the most benefit.

I have continued to notice improvements in my skin, glowing and fine lines do actually appear to be reduced, overall looking much healthier. My hair has also started growing faster and have noticed this with the new growth against my normal blonde highlights that dark is coming through quicker than I would normally expect

i am usually fairly active with cardio and strength and this is purely anecdotal and not measured but I can see more definition in my muscles which was unexpected and maybe related to the collagen as it does increase protein intake for the day

i have decided to continue using it and will give it 12 months to see what the maximum benefits.

I have A&B collagen and struggled with adding it to orange juice. I bought a little hand-held milk frother off Amazon and give it a whizz with that so there's no lumps or stringy bits

Traillover · 11/05/2025 17:50

Which is the best ancient +Brave to take for arthritis in joints in the spine

MrsK · 20/06/2025 16:27

Anyone suffered any digestive discomfort? I’ve stopped after 5 days as it doesn’t seem to agree with me.

Alltheyellowbirds · 20/06/2025 16:45

I haven’t tried it but am interested to follow your results. I take a collagen powder by Revive Naturals which I get on Amazon. It’s not a fancy brand but I chose it because it has collagen types 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10, sourced from beef, fish, chicken and eggshell. That really appealed to me - I didn’t want to have to choose which part of my body to benefit because well into peri-menopause I need help with it all!!

So far working really well for me and it’s affordable, but I do keep wondering about more expensive/trendy brands and whether they might be better…

Ive previously tried various collagen tablets and gummies and never saw results with those.

hi, just come across this thread & wondered how you are all getting on with it. I am one week in so early days yet. I'm seeing more ads for Ancient + Brave & am hoping someone can let me know what that's all about too!

I’m interested too! I’ve how are you going with it @cosietea?

I’ve just finished my multi-collagen by Revive which was great but wondering which one to buy next. In the meantime I’m using a bone broth powder which I’ve got quite partial to having in my morning coffee - sounds gross but adds a kind of umami flavour I like.

Theunamedcat · 02/08/2025 07:55

Which is best tablets or powder? I'm not keen on powder tbh

IME powder far better. I just don’t think they can get enough of it into a pill.

daffodilandtulip · 02/08/2025 08:24

I'm on my second jar so maybe around two months in. I thought it wasn't doing anything but then had a holiday and realised that the grey wrinkly pregnancy stretch marks on my tummy that were quite frankly a shrivelled mess after weight loss, have practically vanished. I keep analysing my crows feet but I can't see much change there though!

Sunny866 · 13/08/2025 08:30

@cosietea how are you getting on with the collagen now?
Do you add it to a hot drink in the mornings?

I love A&B caca collagen powder. I drink it like instant coffee with a splash of milk. I don’t know if it works but I’m mid 50s with barely any wrinkles. I can tell if I’m dehydrated though as that shows up on my face

PInkyStarfish · 13/08/2025 13:12

Snake oil.

BurgundyZero · 13/08/2025 17:18

I have made myself retch daily taking smelly collagen for about 4 months and have seen no improvement in my arthritis.
