I have somehow acquired a gentleman caller 🤣

Despite all my assurances to myself that it would remain something very casual to be fitted in when it suited me, he seems to be here almost every day. He's very keen to come but rather than finding that annoying, I find it's what I want too.

Often we do an exercise class together and have dinner, so there's not that much time to go out out, so we often end the evening having a cuddle watching TV. I've never been a big TV person, but he is and knows when all the new releases are coming out. He likes an "intelligent' drama and we've watched some interesting things together. All good so far.

The only trouble is, as soon as I get comfortable and cosy with his arm around me I'm asleep, and I miss most of these shows 🤣

Enjoy it 🙌🏼 It’s lovely to hear that you have found this relationship when you perhaps didn’t expect it.

As for falling asleep watching TV…can’t see the issue personally. I’m 60, work very long hours, and am often asleep before the first advert break if anything I try to watch 😅

i think of it as a gift. I settle down and often asleep before the extended credits are done. DH watches for hours and hours, then wonders why he doesn’t sleep well, and is tired the next day.

my advice is to make sure you do have other interests alongside watching from the sofa. Maybe one’s a week.

if he can’t be persuaded to join you, find something for yourself. You will be glad you did not allow your horizon to close in on you entirely.
