How do you set a website up?

Hi. I'm trying to start up a business where I want there to be payment options embedded in the website. I've absolutely no idea how to set up a website though! Can anyone advise on who provides this sort of things at a reasonable cost (I don't want to get ripped off and have no idea what the costs should be) and do websites need continuable maintenance? A friend has said she can ask a neighbour to do it but he doesn't work in web design and I'm not sure how responsive he would be if the website needed troubleshooting, updating etc. Many thanks in advance.

Hi @Maplewood6 my husband is in this line of work. Your best bet depending on what your business is, would be a squarespace website.

Many thanks! A friend of mine recommended the same so I think that's the way to go.

Are you selling products (and if so, how many e.g do you need an online shop with categories etc. or are you just selling one or two products), or are you selling services (book a nail appointment / colour consultation)?
