He never used to, but over the past year he almost always has BO.

It’s his armpits. He uses real soap, double cleanses in the shower.

Ge has tried an array of deodorants and anti perspirants, every product Mitchum has to offer. Roll ons, sprays. It’s all the same.

His t-shirts stink and the armpits have to be soaked in vinegar before washing, and that doesn’t even get rid of the smell entirely!!

Are we missing something?

Go to the doctor's to check for thyroid etc

Check his diet.

Get him to the GP

My DH smelled funny when he became T2 diabetic

Echoing the above - I'm type 2 diabetic and if my blood sugars are high I sweat like a pig. And it's a really nasty smelly sweat that you can't get rid of the smell from. Something like Perspi-Guard overnight works well for me over the summer. Get a cheap blood glucose monitor from the chemist and start doing some readings - if they're high, get him to the GP pronto.

Agree a gp visit to rule anything out. I use Dr Beckman sweat & deo remover for sweaty clothes (bought off Amazon) and my men folk have good results with Sure Cream/Stick 96 hour stuff.

Has he changed his diet recently? My ex was a bodybuilder and had bad BO in spite of being very clean. We went in holiday and he wasn’t having his 6 pints of milk a day and the smell disappeared.

Rhaidimiddim · 19/03/2025 20:26

Has he started any new medications?

In the meantime, I think, until the real cause is determined, I would just try shaving them.
