Pulled/stretched ligaments - anyone done this?

I had an accident 10 days ago. I have stretched the ligaments in my knee. Ended up with a knee brace to wear for a week. Tubigrip thereafter. I was also given crutches but I felt very unsafe on those so didn’t use them much at all. Brace came off on Sunday but I have found myself in more pain now than all of last week. Tubigrip makes it worse.

If you’ve done anything similar, how long did it take for you to feel 100% again. Stupidly I thought a couple of weeks rest would have been fine!

I have been given a physio appointment in a few weeks time.

I think ligament damage can take longer than a break to get better, sorry.

If you can afford it, a specialist private sports physio would be better than a bog-standard one via the NHS.

Oh no. Thank you. I will look at private physio this evening.

I tore some ligaments nearly 2 years ago and have finally given in and am paying for physio now. I should not have left it so long.

Knee ligaments 6-8 weeks. Keep a brace on until you've seen physio. They will give you gentle exercises to strengthen slowly then build to stronger exercises.
Nuromol is best for pain and anti-inflammatory benefits.
