Small treat gifts on a budget for 40th birthday

I have a close friend turning 40 and I want to send her 5 small gifts of a few £ each for the last 5 days of her 30s. I have a bigger gift organised and am taking her for lunch so does need to be small/inexpensive things that I can send by post. So far I have a mini hand cream, cat nanobloc and chocolate. Suggestions please 😊

Honestly ?

it’s too much. Lunch and a bigger gift is more than enough

Sorry but I also agree that it's too much. Gifts should thoughtful not something that you ask strangers to help you choose to fit a themed idea.

Surely this is a terrible idea? Wasteful and pointless. How on earth is a ‘mini hand cream’ a memorable gift? And if not memorable why bother?

Are you very bored, @notasausage?

If I was going to do something like this, I would choose a theme that she would appreciate, for example, if she likes reading, five books, or chocolate - five really nice bars of different chocolate, or five bags of fancier coffee than she usually would buy. Five bits of cheap random stuff doesn't make sense to me.

How will you give it to her? Are you going to turn up at her house each day for a week?! And what’s the relevance of 5 gifts? She’s 40, not 50.

Ah, by post?! How will you guarantee they will arrive on the correct days? Or that she doesn’t spend the lead up to her birthday tracking down random parcels that her neighbours have taken in? This is a ridiculous idea.

If you want something small, cheap and thoughtful how about a second hand book from her year of birth and every decade after that. There are some good options, package them in one delivery though!

Gather some old photos of her, or her with you and other friends, and collect those up. Nice frame if you can run to it.
