Where can I go?

Live in Surrey and have an opportunity for a few days away child free. Fancy somewhere that's a train ride away. Done Brighton and Bath to death but love these areas. Like somewhere with a town (with independent restaurants preferably), places to mooch, nice walks, a bit of history (with some nice wine as well). Any ideas?

I went to Chichester last year and loved it. Lots to do in the town, and plenty in the immediate area. The train from Victoria also stops at Arundel, which is on my list for this summer.

I think you can get to the Cotswolds by train. I forget which town.
