What are your hit and miss buys off Instagram? Or is it just me that’s gullible 😀

Misses- Tallow and Ash perfume laundry liquid. I was completely taken in by that one and I just hope I haven’t set up
a subscription, The smells sounded divine but in reality there is only a faint one that fades very quickly, and the wash power isn’t as good as regular detergent at all.
Lemonade Dolls the less said the better I’m just not an inclusive person I guess. Products gorgeous though.

Hits cube packing bags that are slightly vacuum have been a game changer.
Oat Pantry over night oats have converted me and I do feel abit healthier 😀.
Valentte diffusers last forever and beautiful scents.

i do really need to reign myself in though. Anyone else buy because of Instagram?

No one has mentioned Rise & Fall bedding. I’m in the market for new bedding so I was hoping to be convinced either way.

Rise and Fall bedding is the BEST! Their deep fitted sheets with the rubberised elastic are the only thing that keeps my sheet in place. And the duvet sets are such good quality

Anyone with a review of Trtl neck pillows or a recommendation for some compression socks…
I’m seeing adverts for both, and fancy getting some before long flight.

Best thing I’ve ever bought for travel. Slept like a baby on a 14hr flight.

LynetteScavo · 09/09/2025 06:52

OK so the Roberts Berrie pots of Nordic fruit arrived (customer service were excellent when there was a glitch with the order) and I must say they’re rather nice. They’re a bit like drinking pots of baby food, or the sauce that’s poured over cheese cake. They company doesn’t claim
any amazing health benefits of the berries and it’s a bit much ordering food from Finland, but I am tempted to place another order! 😆

I also bought some Hears ear protection last week, and haven’t had a chance to use them properly yet. Persistent advertising has a lot to answer for!

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 15/09/2025 19:08

I bought a Wonder Skin lip tint yesterday, after seeing all the rave reviews on Insta…
it didn’t even last until lunchtime and tastes weirdly soapy!
Absolute Miss!

DecafDodger · 15/09/2025 19:25

not a dupe, @NorthFaceofthelaundrypile ? I have half their collection and mine have no taste whatsoever.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 15/09/2025 20:18

I bought it in Boots, so assume it’s the real deal!

Is this the purple/blue thing that peels off and leaves a tint?? I bought it and think it’s AMAZING!! Definitely lasts most of the day on me, and I can’t taste anything

haufbiskiy · 16/09/2025 12:45

The beauty pie super luminous under eye corrector is rubbish. I bought it because it said it didn't crease. It's dry and it creases and its difficult to blend.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 16/09/2025 19:22

Reporting another massive miss today. I caved to the advertising that has been following me around the internet and I bought the incredibly expensive fara homidi foundation (and the brush!).

i used the foundation matcher on the website to match it to my current shade. I have literally never been so disappointed with a purchase.

its completely the wrong colour for my face, far too light. And the texture is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. It’s like it searches out my pores so it can sit on top of them, highlighting them for all to see. A really terrible terrible and incredibly expensive product.

Online foundations are terrible.
You're better off going to your local Space NK or sephora. No hard sell and they have a variety of foundations, BB creams and CC creams.
I went to Space NK on Saturday and had excellent service.
Ended up buying Eborian CC cream after being matched and love it.

Great thread!

Massive hit for me is the Laifen Tech hairdryer, I follow a few curly wavy on Instagram and finally bought one.
Also Tatti lashes

Absolute rubbish was Luxe lash lift kits, I should have read the reviews before plunging!

Someone up thread mentioned the Zoeva eyeliners, i keep looking at these, are they any good?

We've resisted the Crimpit and I'm not sure about Halara.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 16/09/2025 21:32

God DH bought a crimpit and now it’s another thing taking up space that never gets used! Also, I am an idiot as I thought it could go
in the oven/air fryer so I’m lucky not to have melted it straight out of the box.

NippyNinjaCrab · 16/09/2025 21:47

And Purdy and Figg, waste of money for what it is.

Zoeva eyeliners are ok, but they are marketed as a dupe of the VB ones. I had Zoeva first. Then my
local Soace NK started stocking the VB ones and they are in a different league. I’m shit at eyeliner but since I got the Cocoa VB one I haven’t used anything else:

BG2015 · 17/09/2025 07:45

Still love my Halara shorts. Bought 3 pairs and wore them all summer, very comfortable and flattering.

Now ordered a pair of Halara jeans so we will see what they are like.

Purdy and fig is awful. It smells nice for two seconds and then its just essential oil and water leaving massive smears all over your worktops and making them look dirty

NippyNinjaCrab · 17/09/2025 09:28

I'm definitely a sucker for curly hair products, pet gadgets and cookware 😆
I was the person buying magazines for the free nail Polish or supplement that was shit before social media! My DH loves the tik tok shop, I have resisted that rabbit hole so far.

Oh I love it!

I did buy the Our Place Always Pan and I may as well have burnt the money.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 17/09/2025 15:28

So funny isn’t it, I love that pan!

IdBeLionIfISaid · 17/09/2025 15:35

Do you?! What am I doing wrong?! Damn thing is totally non non stick

HermioneWeasley · 21/09/2025 14:11

I caved and bought some stuff from halara. I’m generally pleased with it thought eh sizing is a bit variable - I’m a solid size 14 and I bought size M which is fine in some stuff and a bit tight in others.

I also love the Elysium Seoul retinal - I swear my marionette lines are less pronounced since using it

14 is large with Halara isn’t it? I’m a 12 and wear a medium

My point was more it isn’t consistent between different items
