What are your hit and miss buys off Instagram? Or is it just me that’s gullible 😀

Misses- Tallow and Ash perfume laundry liquid. I was completely taken in by that one and I just hope I haven’t set up
a subscription, The smells sounded divine but in reality there is only a faint one that fades very quickly, and the wash power isn’t as good as regular detergent at all.
Lemonade Dolls the less said the better I’m just not an inclusive person I guess. Products gorgeous though.

Hits cube packing bags that are slightly vacuum have been a game changer.
Oat Pantry over night oats have converted me and I do feel abit healthier 😀.
Valentte diffusers last forever and beautiful scents.

i do really need to reign myself in though. Anyone else buy because of Instagram?

Hits:

Cotton Clara friendship bracelet kit - yes, you can buy the bits and pieces at Hobbycraft but the patterns are cute and it's stopping me from doom scrolling while watching TV
Rise & Fall bedding - excellent fitted sheets, lovely duvet sets. Slightly on the fence about the clothing.
Lakeland Lights candles - lovely fragrances, not too expensive
Russell and Atwell chocolates - amazing
RMS beauty eyebrow kit - totally swayed by RoseMarie's own quizzical eyebrows, but it is great

Misses:
lumillite headband torch - much smaller and shonkier than in the reel, but to be fair, refunded without quibble
AKT deodorant - so it turns out I'm even sweatier and stinkier than all the West End dancers who apparently use this and remain fresh as a daisy... And stop with the 'introductory offer!' prices - which turn out to be subscription only.

Would love to know if anyone has any views on Palome clothing which The Algorithm seems to think I should be buying, along with Community Clothing (too boxy for me).

@FinnalyCracked I checked out that shop and bought some wax melts about two weeks ago. I’ve only used about three so far, and I burn them every night. Best quality wax melt I’ve ever purchased! You’ve saved me a fortune already😍

Bloody annoyed. I bought a bag from Zedel in Paris. I’m sure you’ve seen the adverts. Well the medium in the advert which I ordered is blinking massive. Just be aware if you are buying one. It’s very good quality and beautifully made but it’s heavy for every day.

Palome is amazing. I’ve got a beautiful sezanne dress and the palome version is £50 cheaper and as lovely

Big miss - I'll Makiage foundation that turns me the colour of Miss Piggy
Amazing hit - some beautiful resin candle holders with dried flowers in. Gorgeous!

Not had merry people pop up on my feed but fit flops make wellies!

EachandEveryone · 25/07/2025 11:26

Ornella.caftan are gorgeous. I know not the hight of fashion but with the weather like it’s been they are perfect. I wore it all day felt lovely and soft and really cool. I even went to Tescos in it! I’ve had loads of compliments and it was cheap as well. I shall get another one.

Merry People - I did but ended up with plantar fasciitis after wearing them to walk the dog - I think they’d be fine for pottering around the garden and are decent quality but not for walking any distance.

hits - Rowdy bags - the first one we were sent had minor damage and the customer service was good and they replaced it.

HumaneMouseTrap · 25/07/2025 17:29

hits - not revolutionary but the Laura Geller powder foundation is a decent buy

misses - wrinkles schminkles lost their stickiness after 2 uses so a waste of money

Has anyone tried the quasi collagen masks that supposedly give you glass skin?

I haven’t bought them - I can’t decide what colour, and anyway, I really don’t need them. I so want a pair though!

MarigoldCherry · 28/07/2025 19:10

Estrid deodorant is rubbish. I smelled sweaty after about two hours and the ball of the roll on scratched my armpit.
Shapermint shapewear mixed reviews, the everyday pants fit well, were comfy and stayed up all evening. The shorts in the same size gave me a huge muffin top and rolled down. The customer service chat was really frustrating as are the tonnes of emails they send.

Theonewhogotthecake · 28/07/2025 19:30

Oat pantry - delicious!

Single Variety Co jam - absolutely amazing but buy via Holland and Barrett shops. If you go direct, the postage is insane.

Theonewhogotthecake · 28/07/2025 19:35

Wick Guru candles - crap. Doesn’t smell at all.

IToldYouSoSee · 28/07/2025 19:40

Just managed to cancel 2 subscriptions to shitty info/learning things which were a complete con, one Apple got back, the other me.

Countless things - il makiage wrinkle paste (does not work unless you then cake yourself in 83 layers of foundation etc etc - I don’t. Some Mary Janes which looked gorgeous but we’re SO plasticky irl. Sweet little teddies which were deformed blobs of cloth when they arrived, and yes I fell forTemu a few times before I caught on. Why do they make an industry over deliberately making landfill and selling it? (Bc fucking idiots like me, that’s why!)

Anyone with a review of Trtl neck pillows or a recommendation for some compression socks…
I’m seeing adverts for both, and fancy getting some before long flight.

The "pillow"/neck support is absolutely not worth the money

Rinkali · 29/07/2025 18:38

Yes, I bought a Trtl neck brace thing for a transatlantic flight and spent the whole journey red-eyed and sleepless, watching films at a slight angle.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 29/07/2025 22:26

Thank you @haufbiskiy and @Rinkali - you’ve managed to save me some money!

DecafDodger · 30/07/2025 06:49

I have the neck pillow as well and I use it, as it is a lot smaller than the regular ones. I find it fine - but no better, certainly not that miraculous support they advertise.

LynetteScavo · 18/08/2025 10:35

I’ve just ordered some scandanavian berries in pots. (I think you drink them, but they’re not a juice)
I’ll let you know.

Im so guilable. They’re probably really sour

EachandEveryone · 31/08/2025 13:06

Anyone bought those Muslin blankets from the Fleece Company?

OP posts:
FinnalyCracked · 31/08/2025 13:27

@EachandEveryone I have one! Absolutely lovely, until it got covered in dog fur and I put it in for a cold wash on a delicate spin which is what the instructions said to do. It completely lost its shape. Such a shame as it was so snuggly. Perhaps a handwash would have been better? It now lives in the dogs bed
