Could this make my dd ill?

Toilet brush holder leaked dirty toilet brush water on the floor. I mopped it up with a towel and threw it in the bath.

I disinfected the floor and washed the towel on a hot wash but forgot to clean the bath. I bathed dd(3) today and only remembered when she was sat in the bath. (We just use water when washing her hair).

I threw a load of my bubble bath in and asked her to stand up while I cleaned the bath with. bubble bath.

Then I ran her a fresh bath. After her bath I let her play in more bubbles to hopefully clean her skin.

Will this be enough or have I put her at risk by exposing her to dirty toilet brush water?! Have since got rid of the toilet brush but still feeling guilty 😭

She will be fine x

rubyslippers · 15/03/2025 13:18

She’ll be fine
There’s no reason to feel so anxious over this

cheeseismydownfall · 15/03/2025 13:19

I think you are massively overthinking this OP! I all honestly you could probably wash your DD with water from the toilet holder and although that would obviously be revolting it would be very unlikely to make her ill.

biscuitsandbooks · 15/03/2025 13:20

She will be absolutely fine, honestly. Stop stressing.

WrylyAmused · 15/03/2025 13:21

Way overreacting.
I would tell you to Google certain things about germ spread, and what everyone is exposed to everyday as a matter of course (& remain perfectly healthy), but don't as you're clearly anxious already.

She'll be fine.

And there are a number of scientific studies which show that exposure to a normal amount of bacteria is good for human immune systems. People who overly clean and sterilise their houses are actually not doing themselves and their families any favours.

BlumminFreezin · 15/03/2025 13:21

There's probably more germs on your internal door handles and light switches op.

Quinlan · 15/03/2025 13:24

Any pathogens being carried by the toilet brush water are pathogens which are already being carried around inside the bodies of the people using your toilet (so just her family). She isn’t going to catch anything. She’ll get the same germs from people not washing their hands properly! Don’t worry.

ThatRealRoseFawn · 15/03/2025 13:28

If there was literal poo floating around in the bath and she ingested it then there would be a risk of illness, if not, then no.

Thanks all
