Sickness Bug & Spreading

Hi, so apparently partners son was throwing up all night so hasn’t gone to school today. MIL is looking after him while his mums gone to work.

My partners just told me he’s going to visit him at his mums house for an hour or 2, I understand he wants to see him while he’s not feeling well but pointed out that if it’s neurovirus it will be really contagious for 48 hours and might be best he doesn’t go as we’ll all end up with it (I had it in October and was horrible) I really don’t want the kids getting it and being poorly, they both have a fear of being sick. I haven’t got time to have sick days at work either and it’s my birthday on Monday.

He got a bit annoyed with me saying this and he’s going anyway. Are we all likely to get it if it’s some kind of sickness bug? I’m worrying a bit now.

I'm an emetophobe and I steer well clear of anyone who is / has recently been vomiting. But not my own kids.

Your DP just wants to see his poorly child.

It may not be actual noro? Your DP most likely won't catch it if its just a flying visit.

I wouldn’t be seeing your DP for a few days just in case. If it’s noro, it’s highly contagious and an hour with his son is plenty of time to catch it.

Yeah, same here. I don’t avoid the kids either when they’re ill obviously and it’s part of being a parent if I catch it too. I think it’s just the fact that it’s unnecessary this time…his son lives with for us 4 out of 7 days, just makes sense that while it’s his days off, he recovers with his mum before coming back to us on Monday! If it was his day here, we’d all have to crack on but as it isn’t I don’t see the point in us all getting ill too.

Yeah hopefully not, could be something else I guess.

That’s the thing, he lives here 😅
