Unable to swallow capsules

Hi.
I have been prescribed amoxicillin capsules today from the dentist after a infection in my tooth extraction. Unfortunately I just can't swallow them. I can just about swallow tablets as I can break them up.
Would it be OK to open the capsule and pour the powder in to one of my kids framage frais and take it that way? Or would water be better.
Any suggestions?

tilt head forward when swallowing them with big glass of water - as it will make the pill float right to back of your throat, then swallow. Don't tilt head backwards. Trust me - it works

Drinking through a straw is often effective at getting meds down when you find it difficult.

Ugh, I'm glad I'm not alone! I have wasted so many bigger tabs by getting a choking feeling and being unable to "get it down" so I spat them out. Oh dear it is so embarrassing. I don't know why I have such trouble with them.

Anyway, thankfully I don't have to take too many (YET!) and the pharmacy have adjusted the size by giving me two smaller rather than one BIG one and that has helped a lot.

Bloody tablet/capsule phobia. It's awful. Even taking them with yogurt/food doesn't work for me. I need a shrink. 😊

@valderan you can practice with something like tic tacs. If they would be too big, start with something much smaller like a hundred-and-thousand, and then the silver balls for cake decorating.

Try putting the capsule in a spoonful of jam, that will help you to swallow it. Use a jam like apricot, or raspberry jelly, nothing with lumps or seeds.
Hope you feel better very soon!
