How much does your weight fluctuate throughout the month?

Does it stay the same roughly? Or go up and down at certain times?

I ask because I've lost weight recently and am now aiming to maintain.

Last month i weighed in at target then 2 weeks later I had gained 3lbs but i didn't 'do anything' about it. By the time it came to my 4 weekly check in i was back down to my target weight again.

I've gone up 2lbs again and am going to see if i go back down and even out at end of month.

Its been so long that Ive needed to maintain and lot lose that I dont know!

I can fluctuate half a stone or more, up and down, over the month while doing nothing different. So I don't think a few pounds is that unusual.

I can fluctuate 5-7lbs a month. Sometimes overnight!

Up to 3lbs up at certain times but always seem to settle back down- unfortunately about 4lbs heavier than I'd like!- it depends on so many factors doesn't it? Water retention alone can be caused by hormones, salt, carbs, alcohol etc. I'd probably keep an eye on it for a few months and see if you notice a trend?

It's normal to weigh more around the time of you're period.

Soootired23 · 13/03/2025 20:09

Im at heaviest before and during my period. I'd say I fluctuate like 4lbs at most

MiddleAgedDread · 13/03/2025 20:12

Up to 2lb from one day to the next. It really depends on time of the month, what I’ve eaten the day before and how hydrated I am.

Onlyvisiting · 13/03/2025 20:15

Up to half a stone quite easily.
Gain steadily for half the month, a few days to a week post period I will be at my lightest.
Just remember it's not fat, just weight.
You might find it more useful to track your measurements than focusing on the scales longer term. Although don't forget belly measurements in particular will change with bloating

WTAFAmerica · 13/03/2025 21:38

About 4lbs

Fluctuates by 7lb which I always find crazy but does happen
