Garden activities for older DC

Usually for Easter we get our DC something for the garden. It was easier when they were little as some pavement chalks, stuff for the tuff tray and bubbles were always a hit! I thought this year we’d just give them Easter eggs but overheard a conversation between them talking about how excited they are to get some new bits for outside and so we are wanting to get something for them.
DC are 9 and 10. What activities fo your DC enjoy when they are this age? We don’t have room for a swing or slide etc

Giant bubbles still go down well with older ones. What about one of those sports day race kits where you stuff to do sack race, egg and spoon race, cones and pea bags etc?
There are den kits you can buy or you can do your own with some large sheets of ripstop nylon ( off eBay) and those giant pegs you get to peg towels to deckchairs and some guy line cord.

Mine loved Kubb. You would need to work out if you had space for it though?

Swingball always great fun.

Sunflower growing competition.....buy some plant pots/compost and let them choose some plants?? Make their own vegetable patches?? You can buy raised beds cheaply from aldi/home bargains etc

Echo pp with swing ball suggestion. Was huge hit with my two - you can play as a pair against each other but also play by yourself on it. Ours stayed in use up to and including GCSEs - was an ideal revision break to go into garden and hit a ball hard for 10 mins'
