Any gems I've not thought of for a summer holiday?

We are hoping to get away for a week in August, budget max 1.5k, which seems to not even get us a caravan somewhere lol.

I'm getting holiday blindness trawling air bnb, centre parks eu etc

So I'm hoping to pick your brains for anything I may not have thought of?

2A and 2C (15&12)

UK or Europe considered?
Needs lots for kids to do otherwise they will just moan and stare at their phone; may as well stay at home

Thank you!

Butlins? Not sure if it would come in on budget...but it's awesome, great entertainment, funfair, there's actually loads of stuff for older kids and teens.

For that you could get a ferry or Chunnel to France and a week in a cottage. Drive towards the south, stay somewhere near a lake with various activities… job done!

Pierre et vacances Normandy, there’s availability under £1000 in august, short drive so fuel no as much an issue, swimming pool etc on site, beautiful beaches and plenty of historical sites to visit.

The baltic coast is stunning!
Denmark, Northern Germany, Poland.

Not usually considered for a family holiday, but very well deserving. The days are longer, culture and environment hospitable and Poland especially, alot cheaper.

If you can go at the end of August then look at Centre parcs and Eurocamp type places in Europe as their schools tend to go back before England so prices drop. Scottish schools also go back in mid August but i think most holiday provided have sussed that E&W are still off!
Where in the UK are you starting from because it's ok suggesting you drive to France but some parts of the UK are a 2 day drive from the ferry / tunnel!
