DS is 3 and it is going around preschool. Monday i seen one spot on his shoulder red but nothing else and it went when pressed

The same spot on his belly today this morning. He's come home there's one more on the belly and one by his genital area that do seem to be slightly blisters type?

Could it be random spots , would there be loads more now or is it a slow burn?

I've had it but he's never had it so don't know what to look for. He's been very well and normal so not been poorly or anything I'm just cautious as the pre school teacher mentioned some kids have it right now

Sometimes it's just a few spots, and a very mild case. If so, lucky for him!

If it's going round and he's now developing spots then yes it's very likely chickenpox, sometimes there's a few waves of spots. Please keep him off nursery until you're sure and remember to never give a child with chickenpox ibuprofen.

DD 3.5 had chickenpox 5 months ago. got it from preschool. No fever, started with one spot on her chest and had few in next 2-3 days. they got scabbed over within a week. Looks like mild chickenpox for your DS.

Thanks for advice I've just checked NHS and it seems like he's at stage 2 Already as they al are fluid filled now? It started with one red spot on Monday which is why I thought it wasn't chicken pox then as it was just 1 and even now it's only 4 so hopefully it's a mild case and I'll keep him off tomorrow

I feel awful he went in yesterday and today but the others just came on and got fluid quick I didn't know

Hi OP, just be prepared. Our son started out with a singular spot that blistered really quickly, a few popped up on his face the next day and then nothing new the next day, or the day after that. We thought he had it really mildly and had got lucky, but the day after that they were EVERYWHERE. All in all it was eleven days he was away from nursery for as they hadn't all scabbed over, and he really suffered with it - he was vomiting a lot and had awful tummy pains so just bear in mind it could get worse! I do hope it is just a mild case for you though xx
