Another thread just got me wondering re divorce

I met Dds dad 22 years ago, he'd been separated from his wife for a year (no doubt surrounding it, mutual friends etc)

We separated 16 years ago, so there is no interest on my part other than if he dies, okay when - will all his worldly goods go to his wife? They never divorced, decided couldn't be bothered. Couldn't afford it. Paperwork too much. Whatever..

We're talking about maybe 500 quids worth of guitars, amps and a cat. It's not the be all and end all.

I do pick em 🙄 Interested legally though.

If he died intestate, his legal wife would inherit. Your daughter would have a potential claim against the estate, as a near next of kin.

Thank you, nice and succinct. It's what I thought. It won't be a problem either way, but I was just wondering what happened with those too lazy to divorce or indeed make a will. She can have the cat! Bless her, shouldn't say she. Lovely lady, they married at 18 and 20, very young. Everyone has moved on, don't even think about it. Then I read the other thread. Yes, the lives of unsuccessful musicians don't leave much behind!
