When do kids start colouring?

My first is a teen and my second is a baby, feel like an entire lifetime has passed since my eldest was small and I can't believe how much I've forgotten.

At what age do babies typically start to colour with wax crayons?

I can’t remember either but I really recommend the Woody crayons rather than wax ones, as you get a nice strong colour with very little pressure, unless traditional wax crayons.

Probably around 15-18 months they might start picking up crayons and making marks with them. Depends on the child though, some might do it earlier, some might show no interest until much later.

Thanks both. Got an abroad holiday planned in July and it's earlier than I took my first away. When she was a bit older I'd take a colouring book and crayons along with some toys but not entirely sure they'd be worthwhile this time, youngest will be 16 months. Obviously not a big deal and I'll just wait until closer to the time but it just brought to mind how much you forget with such a big gap.
