Job application form - please help!

Hello. I'm applying for a teaching job and the application form is really odd. The only two spaces to write anything other than employment history/education are 'Hobbies and Interests' and 'Reasons for applying for the job'. I am also supposed to include a covering letter. It's for a boarding school, so the hobbies one is probably quite important. Any tips for where to put my suitability, past experience etc? Thanks very much.

I would write why you think you have experience for the role in the covering letter

Yep, covering letter. You use that to address the essential and desirable criteria and give examples from your experience to show your suitability.

Also surely in your “reasons for applying for the job” you will write that you are experienced in x, y and z criteria through your work at xyz school(s) ie match your own skills and experience to those listed on the job description.

Thank you so much for the responses. I think I will start with the covering letter and see where that leaves me - for some reason I have a mental block with the form. 10 years since my last application so I feel a bit rusty...
