What "things" for 40-things birthday present?

DP is 40 this year. I was going to get him a few sets of 40 cheapish things. So like: - 40 scratchcards,

• 40 packs of Pokemon cards (he collects them),
• 40 random cans of pop

I'm also writing a diary for his 40th year- taking 40 random days in the year and writing a diary entry on each day.

I'd ideally like another couple of sets of 40 things. But I'm stuck for ideas. Anyone got any thoughts?

we just do token birthday presents so this is just a bit of a pimped up token gesture. Plus his birthday is very close to Christmas 😃

Aftershave samples, if you’re near a department store go round the concessions and ask for free samples. I think sometimes Avon sell them for 50p/ £1 too.

You could get him 40 different bottles of beer. My DH would love that.

Chocolate bars if he likes sweet things, different sorts of crisps if he's a savoury guy.

40 packets of crisps, chocolate bars, coffee pods, hot chocolate sachets etc depending on what he likes...could be 20 pairs of socks (not exciting but useful!!) ??
