Google Pay

Google Pay on my phone hasn't worked for a few days when I'm trying to tap in shops. Everything looks fine when I go into the wallet but it's not working. Any ideas?

It's fine when I use my card, just not with my phone.

Have you tried using your card?

Has your card expired?

My Google pay makes me put in my fingerprint every so often to identify myself.

Possibly a block on your card, ring your bank.

Midlifecrisisxamillion · 09/03/2025 20:53

No problem at all with the card when using it like normal.

Is your NFC turned on?

Doggymummar · 09/03/2025 20:56

My location sharing wasn't working earlier, there was an update pending.

NFC tag issue?

Midlifecrisisxamillion · 09/03/2025 21:12

What is NFC?

I mean Google could have helped! It's the communication system you phone uses to send the payment. Check your settings.

HowardTJMoon · 09/03/2025 21:18

NFC is the special radio signal used for tap-to-pay and similar. It stands for "Near Field Communication". Go to Settings, then Connection & Sharing, then NFC. That should show you if NFC is turned on and what payment app is set up to use it.

Thanks. No need to reply if you'd rather not.

Thanks. That all looks fine but I've turned it off and back on again so hopefully that might work.

If it still doesn't work I'd try rebooting your phone.

Good idea. I've just done that so hopefully that will work.
