Halifax hard search mortgage

Hi
We recently had our AIP and when checking Experian it says Halifax did a hard search on myself. But I've just looked at Lloyds credit report who I bank with and that is showing neither a hard or soft search from Halifax.
From googling also it seems Halifax don't usually do a hard search until full application of mortgage, which we haven't done yet as still looking for houses.

Any ideas ?

If you believe a hard search is on your Experian file in error, which if it's for an AIP with Halifax it is then you need to correct Experian and dispute it. They can then put a correction on if it is an error.

Well this is the thing, I'm not sure it is ? As it appeared the same day we had our AIP from Halifax so I thought well that's what it is then. But since checking my Lloyds credit report it isn't on there as a hard or soft search

I had a hard search added this week from my mortgage provider. And my mortgage offer ( in full) landed on Friday.
The bank had done a soft search for Agreement in Principle but the solid offer did not come about until they’d valued the property.
so , what I’m trying to say is ..maybe they’ve not done a hard search yet because you’ve not got a property in mind yet to buy?

EDIT: sorry ( it’s early) I re read and can see it’s on your E-file. My search only knocked off 4 points. Maybe look at joining clearview or Martin’s credit rating thing to see if it shows up on their too?

When I applied for a mortgage with halifax they told me really clearly before they did a hard search and checked I was happy with that.

Right so I've just checked Experian again and it's now not there as hard search but a soft search instead ?
