My partner and I bought a house, he owns 60% and I own 40%.
He put more deposit down which is why it is split like this but we pay 50/50 on the mortgage and the other bills which is fair on the ownership split.
He now thinks we should pay everything in the house 50/50%, there is work that needs doing in the house which he thinks should be split evenly (plastering, electrics etc).
I think this should be split 60/40% as per the ownership of the house.
We are unable to agree as each thinks the other is being unreasonable in how the split should be?
In context he earns £30k more than me in salary a year but pays for a gardener and a cleaner who both come twice a month.
We do live as a family as have a two year old daughter.

Contributions to living costs, including the cleaner, etc should be proportionate to salary but what was the difference in monetary terms between your deposit contributions? Any plans for evening things up? E.g. if paying for stuff is 50:50 but you earn less, does that not count towards your share?

He put £250k in and I put £120k and we spilt the mortgage 50/50 which made the split is 60/40%

We also paid a 50/50 spilt on stamp duty, solicitors etc when buying the house.

I couldn't live like that.

Why would you not put x percentage of your individual incomes into a pot for house upkeep and the money is just taken out as and when needed?
