"E" on old gas oven dial

Before the numbers we have the letter "E"

does anyone know what this means

It's a cordon bleu classique.

I know S is slow

Looking for a keep warm temp!

As above- used for long slow cooking of casseroles and similar. I have the same on my main oven. Works the same way as a slow cooker would.
