Companies with odd product profiles. (Lighthearted) Zippo lighters also make cheap reading glasses!

Spotted in a French newsagents today. Zippo brand reading glasses.

I would have loved to have been in the pitch meeting for that one. "The cigarette lighters aren't doing so well these days seeing as everyone is vaping...let's make cheap reading glasses."

Now, if they'd only carried the design idea through properly with a built in fag lighter on one branch of the glasses...

What companies do you know with odd diversifications?

I can kind of see the heat pumps as an extension of what they already do but quartz worktops?

In a blindfolded taste test between the two, I wouldn't fancy my odds, to be fair.

I had some Zippo sunglasses that I bought on holiday as they were the only ones available in the only shop in the village. I LOVED those sunglasses and cried when I lost them. I'd love another pair if anyone can tell me where to get them from???

Many years ago now, I had a science textbook at school, published by Mills and Boon.
