I woke up drenched

Twice this week I have woken up either in the middle of the night or in the morning literally wet through with sweat. Everywhere apart from my face weirdly. Even DH asked me this morning why I’m so sweaty. The strange thing is that although I’m sweating, I’m not actually hot.

I’ve also been so, so tired recently (it might not be connected though) I’ve gone from someone who could never nap during the day even if I wanted to, to napping everyday.

I’m wondering if it would be worth giving my GP a call?

Yes. Definitely. It is important that you contact your GP.

Welcome to your peri menopause!

How old are you?

misspositivepants · 07/03/2025 09:19

Definitely, night sweats and tiredness to the point of napping needs to be seen.

Definitely see your GP.

Cornettoninja · 07/03/2025 09:22

Definitely GP time. It could be your thyroid or numerous other things that need to be investigated.

This was the start of perimenopause for me.

With your age though, I'd be surprised if it was that. How is your diet, especially in the evenings? I wonder if you are experiencing a blood sugar drop in the night.

Newgirls · 07/03/2025 09:25

29 could be a virus (peri tends to be 40s but always worth checking as some do have it early)

TheAmusedLimePanda · 07/03/2025 09:34

Definitely go to your GP. I had something similar and I don’t want to scare you but it was serious. (Treatable but serious) please make an urgent appointment.

Have you been on the birth control pill?

For some women with a genetic predisposition they never regain their levels of estrogen after coming off and will need HRT.

Something else they don’t tell you when handing them out left right and centre.

OMGInShock · 07/03/2025 09:42

Could be hormonal changes? Any chance you're pregnant? I'd have thought too early for peri

Redbird3 · 07/03/2025 09:45

To answer a couple of questions, I’d say my diet is fairly normal in the evening🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve been on the pill but was several years ago. I have the copper coil so highly unlikely I’m pregnant I guess. I was thinking of hormonal changes too but I will definitely phone the GP
