Tax increasing each month

If my salary and all other contributions have remained the same and my tax code is the same why has my PAYE tax increased for the last couple of months do you think?

Payroll can't offer an explanation so I will contact HMRC but just wondered if anyone knew of an obvious reason?

Have you been working for the entire tax year (since April 2024)? If not, and you're on a cumulative tax code, then you would have paid less tax at first as you would have been able to use the tax free allowance from the unworked months.

It's odd that payroll can't explain - they must have calculated it!

I sign off our payroll each month and get an annotated list of any month by month changes with an explanation of any variances. I would go back to the payroll team and ask again.

Yes been working all year so no change there.

Payroll said they just input the tax code and can't do anything else!
