we have a commercial property in our block and their intruder alarm with security fog went off, setting off fire alarms in our flat and the vacant neighbouring flat. Entire flat covered in this fog. Fire brigade and police have attended, they say that this fog/mist is completely harmless but the following issues remain:
- fog is everywhere, it’s dispersed now but the entire house stinks. We have opened all windows but two hours later it still stinks (think disco/theatre fog but much more intense)
- Empty neighbour flat fire alarm is still going. We have the same system and it won’t stop until you manually hush it, also that flat needs to be aired so the fog goes away or the alarm will just go off again. Landlord can’t find the keys and won’t do anything. Children can’t sleep, I’m thankful it wasn’t a fire but am now very annoyed
help please: any experience with airing out this type of fog? It smells horrible and harmless or not it’s headache inducing and generally disgusting.
the fire alarm will theoretically beep forever. What sort of time frame is reasonable for the landlord to address this?
