Balayage root touch up

Hi, for those that have balayage when it starts to grow out do you have the roots touched up only or have to have it all redone. My hairdresser said because of the technique he uses which involves back combing he can’t do roots only but I’m worried about damaging the ends which are already bleached. Thanks

I had my balayage done 4 months ago. This week I just had a few face framing highlights, root smudge and all over toner.

I had Balayage done and now I go around every 4 months and have partial foils and a toner to keep it looking half decent whilst it grows

I have balayage and extensions. Because I can’t really alter my hair colour I only get it redone every year when I get new extensions. I do root touch up and toners in between. It lasts well and just grows out a bit.
