cannot sign into UC any ideas

My phone account has been disconnected due to not being able to pay the bill due to migration from working tax credits to UC and health problems. I'm burnt out and wasn't able to call phone provider as hard to get through etc.

I've always paid my phone bill so please don't judge it was just a perfect storm of things happening all at once.

Meanwhile can't sign into UC as they want to send a code to my phone and my phone is not giving to me. I have another phone number but don't know if I can sort all of this out tonight online as I have a hospital appointment tomorrow and it will be hard and payment usually arrives on 7th. I have to report my income.

Any workarounds? Otherwise I will try and call them but it'll be crazy tomorrow, I know this is important it's just a hard day tomorrow. Thanks anyone who's read this.

You have to call them on the free phone number tomorrow. I once lost my phone and there’s no alternative email me a code access.

If it's only one months bill and your phone number is blocked rather than them closing the account then you'll still be able to receive calls and texts, you just can't make them.

So they'll have a workaround tomorrow? I've got an email asking me to sign commitment and I can't get to it. tomorrow is v anxiety inducing due to hospital so really hoping this can be quick :-(

3 weeks but not received any codes tonight :-(

I've got another number but don't know if I can sort that out online tonight..

can you connect your phone to wifi or is it cut off completely eg no sim signal ?

cut off completely i imagine certainly no codes coming through today for a few things, thanks

seems when possible id use a spare sim or if your phone allows have a dual sim and keep the uc number on the sim thats not on contract, (i know hindsight is good after the fact) all the best

how long do you think they'd give it before closing the claim? an email came tonight around midnight telling me I must accept a commitment and that if I do not do this by the due date I will not be paid and will not be entitled to UC.

don't know what the due date is but I know I usually get paid on 7th of the month, so it's cutting it fine now.

that im not sure id recommend going into a local job centre and take some id and then they may be able to help you as a better option

They were able to delete my number once I’d gone through security. If no phone is registered it defaults to sending a code to your email.

Go see them today, or borrow a friend's phone to call them. Sign into your email on a different device there must be apthenoption to receive the code in a different manner. With dual authentication mine says don't have your phone? Send an email instead
