was on ebay earlier looking for a brush for my cat, seller had a drop down menu with various colours and prices.. last one in the list literally says 'nothing' so you have say 'blue, £2.99' 'red £3.69' then 'nothing £2.49' was curious so I added it to my basket and it said 'no item' then the price then pay.

anyone else noticed this??

I imagine it's to stop you purchasing something that's no longer in stock. If anyone is silly enough to buy it, the seller is covered against an "item not received" or "not as described" claim when the buyer does indeed receive "nothing". The seller won't want to refund because they'd still be charged fees so would be out of pocket. Because plenty won't read the advert saying "THIS ITEM IS OUT OF STOCK" even if it's written in huge letters in the description. So the seller could lose lots of money refunding idiots. This way they won't have to.
