Don't use Yodel

As a company who presumably want to stay afloat and keep customers happy why can't they even get the basics right?
Ordered clothes for my mum's funeral which they delivered today. They did but to the wrong house. No idea where the clothes are or who has them.
I'm really pissed off. I've nothing to wear on Thursday and I'm actually serious. So pissed off.
So if you have an important package and the delivery company is Yodel don't bother ordering it.

Is it worth contacting Yodel and explain the situation, with luck they can sort it all out.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 04/03/2025 18:09

Yodel do this in my area.

Sling it onto a doormat, take a photo and job done!

Then you get to argue with the sender about how you’re 100% certain it’s not your doormat.

Royal Mail are no better. They delivered my parcel to the wrong house last week. The company I bought from has appalling customer (non) service too. Lesson learned.

I hope you can get a sensible resolution OP.

Royal Mail did this to me today too. Luckily it was the right number but the next road they left it at, which was my suspicion, so I went and raided their doorstep.

Bluevelvetsofa · 04/03/2025 18:16

Mine was the same number, but no idea where the road was. The company sent me a photo of the door as proof of delivery, but it wasn’t my door.

They are so awful that I won’t buy from sellers who use them anymore.
I have had so many things thrown over my six foot back gate and smashed because they are too lazy to walk the 50 feet around to my front door. This is despite having had a sign made for my gate specifically to ask yodel drivers to deliver to my door.
One parcel was thrown so high it lodged in a tree and I didn’t find it till autumn when the leaves dropped.
Others have simply not arrived and they refuse to believe me (if you can ever get a reply at all) and insist their driver’s sat nav shows they came to my address.
They don’t take proof of delivery photos (probably so they can lie to cover their cock ups) and of course I then can’t prove a negative.
I fucking hate yodel!

I guess they're all good or bad depending on area. Yodel are really good here, as are Evri and DPD. Parcelforce are horrendous and I've had to stop a regular order from one place as they only use them.
Sorry for your loss, this stress can't be helping.
I would contact the retailer, explain the issue and ask them for a next day delivery - it is incumbent upon them to ensure your goods are delivered - you don't have to deal with Yodel, they do.
