What's turkey like for a holiday?

Me, husband and two daughters are hoping to go on holiday in May, because of half term it's fairly expensive, we have found some in turkey cheaper, what's it like?

Got no advice to give as I've never holidayed in Turkey,but I'm intrigued by the comments coming up again and again about leering men. Don't get me wrong I've known for ages that this goes on, especially in places like Egypt, Turkey, Morocco and Tunisia. But I'm interested as to why? What is it about their culture that makes them like this? You don't hear about this sort of thing going on in Spain,or France,or Portugal.

Turkey's a different place now. The economy is on its knees and they're struggling with inflation and the cost of living. People don't realise how difficult it is for Turks and how they're fighting to earn a living and feed their children.

We love Turkey, you get a lot more for your money than Spain. I have been for years for both business and family holidays and have never found the men to be sleazy, and I've been with xh and with dc on my own.

My dsis was adamant she'd never go to Turkey, managed to persuade her a few years ago and she's a convert!

I found it really nice, people will try to get you to buy ur you just say no thank you. I don't supoiet the regime but people need to earn a living. We went to some.local turkish eating places and the people were so kind and hospitable. It is very safe as the police are so strict. We lost a phone and it was there waiting in the shop for us to collect. Marmaris is a bit Brits abroad for me but the smaller places are lovely and public transport is good and cheap.
