My 11 year old needs new hearing aids. It always used to be 2-3 weeks wait for an appointment and then about a week to send the new ones. This time they have said it's 12 weeks to wait for him to be seen. He really struggles to hear without them. I know I'm going to get a load of replies saying I should be grateful the nhs funds his hearing aids and I am lucky he is not in pain etc and I do appreciate that but he is really going to struggle at school and everywhere else with no hearing aids.

Oh that’s not good at all! I only had to wait about 3 weeks for an appointment and was very surprised to be given replacement blue tooth hearing aids at that appointment. My previous pair had been a wait of about 4 weeks.
Do you think your ds might get his at the first appointment and not have to wait for delivery?
I hope so, he could miss out on so much if he can’t hear properly and be either very stressed trying to hear or just mentally switch off.

Three months of struggling to hear?! That's terrible. And outrageous. I wonder what's the issue - a shortage of audiologists, perhaps?
