Air fryer How To...

I currently only use mine for cooking small pieces of things. Chicken wings. Breaded fish. Salmon etc. but people keep saying they never use their ovens now and can make a meal for 4 easily including a roast and pizza

How?

How do you do a whole roast chicken. Mine is a very large ninja and I'm questioning how one would squash in a roast chicken and still have space for circulating air.
Do you put in the main bowl or into the basket?

How do you do all the other bits like potatoes roast vege etc as they'd all have to be done separately and surely everything else will be sitting around going cold and soggy.

How pizza?? Pizza is a large flat thing. How do you cook that in an air fryer

Not sure about a pizza, presumably cut in half and put one side in each basket if you have a dual air fryer.

Roast is easy, shove a small chicken in one basket, roast potatoes in the other. Whilst chicken is resting I roast the carrots, with olive oil and honey. Shove the Yorkshire’s in for literally two minutes. Only thing I use the hob for is to boil broccoli. But chicken, roast potatoes and carrots are all done in my Ninja.

Which ninja is it ?

I've never done pizza in mine.

I tried to warm up some aunt Bessie’s yorkies in mine and they started flying about in there. Also had a disaster with some pepperoni on a pizza which incinerated itself before I pulled the drawer open.

Right I'm assuming it's a ninja foodi. I steam roast mine do you have a rack or just the crisping bowl thing? I put mine on a low rack let it cook take it out put foil over it and do roast potatoes in the crisper thing. I put a liner in mine so it collects the juices and they are not collected in the pot.

Ooo I dint know. Yes it's a foodie. It has a bowl and then a bowl shaped basket. It probably has other things I've stuffed somewhere. What does the crisper thing and the rack look like?

Mine doesn't have drawers. It's a ninja foodie. One big bowl

I reheat a couple of slices of pizza in mine. 180 for 5 mins from a cold oven (no preheating)

The crisper is the smaller bowl mine is brown. The racks are round I got two with mine. You need to stick the thermometer in when you are steam roasting.
Read the book So it gives you a general idea. I now have 2 airfryers the ninja foodi and just a generic airfryer once you get used to working it you won't regret it.

Ok so maybe I'm picturing people doing a whole pizza. I can see how it could work for a couple of slices. Thanks for the clarification

@Coffeeishot
I have read other threads where people have two or even 3 fryers. Is this so you can cook lots at the same time?

There must come a point where it is more cost effective to just run the big oven and put everything in there.

I also couldn't stand all the clutter having multiple air fryers. They are kind of bulky!!

I guess the AF is faster

My other 1 is also a microwave combi thing so it replaced my microwave, it's just so I could cook things at the same time

Coffeeishot · 03/03/2025 15:12

I just got the second 1 In February because my microwave gave up, so it's a recent thing. I love my foodi though was scared of it at first,

AreWeRunning · 03/03/2025 16:27

go on YouTube and search for eg Roast Chicken Ninja Foodie and there's bound to be a tutorial

We've got a Ninja Foodi Max and follow Susannah's Kitchen

LindaLeggings · 03/03/2025 16:56

I found it far less faff to just use the oven for roasts but I'll admit I'm not really an air fryer convert, I sold our gigantic ninja and replaced it with the smallest one as I found we only use it for cooking small portions.
