Morning. Does anyone know why they check your ovaries during pregnancy scans?! An early scan. They said my ovaries are normal so I assume it has some impact on the pregnancy or they wouldn’t bother to check? If anyone knows please let me know :)

Tends to be things like if there's a corpus luteus cyst (basically the follicle which releases the egg) as this releases progesterone to support early pregnancy development.

I had an early scan and was told which ovary I had ovulated from which I found really interesting. No idea why they do check them though, maybe it's in case of any cysts or something that could potentially cause bleeding etc?
