Technology question from an idiot

Begging for help here before I throw something through a window.

So I bought a Majority MP3 Pro Player on Amazon. I have (somehow) downloaded Spotify onto my desktop. But how do I transfer podcasts from Spotify onto the MP3 Player?

(If anyone is kind enough to answer, imagine you are talking to a Neanderthal who has just been thawed out of a glacier.)

There’s some instructions in the digital manual which I found by putting the make into Google. However! I’m not sure you will be able to get a podcast off Spotify and transfer it to your player. Spotify is designed for streaming so although you can download things which stay in Spotify so you can listen offline, I’m not sure you can download them entirely to listen on something else.

Essentially if you think of the podcast as a file, you need to get the file off Spotify and onto your player. The problem is I don’t think Spotify want you to do that. You may be able to get podcasts from other sources which are downloadable. Once you’ve downloaded to your computer you transfer the file to the player (a bit like a USB stick).

Thanks so much for your reply😊. Do you think I can download stuff from Itunes instead?

Anything you download from iTunes will not be in MP3 format, so no.

I think, in the very nicest way I can word this Grin that having an MP3 player is pretty redundant unless you have lots of CDs you want to waste your life downloading to your player. Do you just have a basic phone? Because by far the easiest thing to do is get Spotify on a smart phone, plug in your headphones and go.

Yes, you can download podcasts as mp3 files on iTunes. And there are lots of other places to download them such as Podbean podcast directory.

Do you have a smart phone? If you do then you can download the Spotify app on that and listen to it either with headphones or just with the speaker.
