If you have a free day, nothing planned, you can please yourself, do you prefer to spend it indoors...or will you go out?

What activity (if any) will you do either way?

Stay in!

Loaf about, tidy up, nap, drink wine tidy wardrobes.

Twotoast · 02/03/2025 13:08

In! But then again I only leave the house when I really have to!

kellyisgone · 02/03/2025 13:40

Definitely out! I have enough enforced time stuck indoors because I have dcs in bed, and I've paid silly amounts for the privilege of living near London attractions that I'll make the most of it whenever I can!

frozendaisy · 02/03/2025 13:47

Out
plenty of world near and far to see and be part of
had plenty of in during pandemic and realised I didn’t like or want my life to be just within our limited boundaries

ThirdStorm · 02/03/2025 13:48

In. But when I get cabin fever I might potter in the garden for 10 mins or sit on the garden bench with a coffee especially if it’s sunny.

Oxgodby · 02/03/2025 13:48

Out, definitely, if I have a good chunk of time to myself.

Needmorelego · 02/03/2025 13:50

In.
All my stuff is here.
Outside is full of people 😂

PassingStranger · 02/03/2025 13:51

Dosent it depend on the weather.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 02/03/2025 13:59

Depends on the weather for me. I'm not avoidant of doing duck all though. I went for a walk with my mum this morning and am now on the sofa on Mumsnet and watching crap tv. No guilt.

NovemberMorn · 02/03/2025 18:06

The weather plays a part, but it doesn't keep me in.
I prefer out 90% of the time.
It's probably an age thing, but I really like visiting garden centres, and I am lucky enough to have quite a few within easy driving distance.
In summer there is always something I can buy, but even if it's just for browsing, ime, most garden centres have lovely tearooms, and it's always nice to have an afternoon snack without having to make it at home.

Garden.

So outside, but not out out.

whosaidtha · 02/03/2025 18:34

A nice day I'm out! Run or walk. Also a trip to a coffee shop. If it's miserable I'll stay in. Probably in bed tucked up nice.

Middlemarch123 · 02/03/2025 19:01

In, because my work is walking dogs, so I’m out for hours, regardless of the weather.

TheChosenTwo · 02/03/2025 19:12

Out for sure, especially when the weather is as beautiful as it has been today. But to be honest I get out in all but the heaviest downpours.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my house and being inside it too but if I had a day to myself (which I often do to be fair) I need to get out and stretch my legs. Might go for an outdoor swim or a long walk.
I spend enough time forced to be indoors due to that annoying thing called work, I have wasted so many hours of my life staring out the window imagining what I’d be doing if I wasn’t working and it’s always being outside! (I do actually really like my job 😂)

An outdoor swim, are you in the UK?
If so...you are a hardy soul.🙂

Haha yes, it was pretty chilly this morning, I think about 5 degree water temperature but it’s invigorating and a brilliant way to keep my MH ticking over!

PleaseDontFingerMyPouffe · 02/03/2025 19:38

I thought this was going to be about cats...

DancingDucks · 02/03/2025 19:40

A bit of both. Probably out quite early for a wander then in and pottering in the afternoon. Evening would be whatever I fancied to eat and some lovely wine.

Dillydollydingdong · 02/03/2025 19:40

A bit of both. I have to go out every day otherwise I feel the day's been wasted. But it's so self indulgent to spend time indoors pottering, doing whatever I fancy - who can resist?

flyinghen · 02/03/2025 19:56

In definitely!

Saphire123 · 03/03/2025 00:24

I love to plan a day in, but round about 2pm, I get bored, whereas I never get bored when I am out, so, my answer would be, I prefer to be out.

TwoSteppingInTexas · 03/03/2025 03:21

I’d walk the dogs and go for a run, but then spend the rest of the day watching Netflix or reading.

In, because my work is walking dogs, so I’m out for hours, regardless of the weather.

Whereas my job is inside 80/90% of the time so I need to get out for a long walk while listening to podcasts plus maybe a nice lunch.

wholetthefroggiesout · 03/03/2025 06:22

Both for me.
I like to get up at the time I usually would if I was working (5:45am), get any housework and boring jobs done before 8ish, spend the morning out and about, and then the afternoon/evening dossing at home with a couple of glasses of wine and a takeaway.

StarlightLady · 03/03/2025 06:24

Out! Maybe exploring somewhere new or returning to a loved old haunt.
