Exactly that! We will be spending a long weekend in Palma in April, staying in the center without a car. We plan on visiting the food markets there and would love to try out some tasty restaurants.

We went about 15yrs ago and stayed near Palma. I recommend the small gauge train that goes from Palma to Soller and returns. It travels through olive groves and was just a lovely day out. We got a bus back, because the train times just didn't suit us, but Port de Soller was stunning. We wished we'd stayed there!https://trendesoller.com/eng/index.php?register_vars[ckAnalitica]=0

We has a delicious meal at this restaurant. You'd need a taxi from Palma as its on a slight near towards the port. We had the caracoles (snails) and a meat dish. It was thin slices of raw meat and they bought a super hot piece of slate which you cook the meat on. Various sauces and veg etc. The menu has lots of other local cuisine though. Out hotel gave us a voucher for a free drink or something there because our hotel wasn't too far.
