What age child drew these?

Lighthearted, it obviously doesn’t matter but what age would you think these were by?

I have absolutely zero drawing ability, neither does DH or our other DC (yet) so I thought these were amazing.

I'd say maybe a talented 12 maybe. As I think by that age skill and talent are more significant than age.
But I'm nearly 40 and couldn't do anything close, I'd be very impressed whatever the age!

Notfeelinit · 01/03/2025 15:33

Wow, your daughter is an amazing artist! ❤️

Rumoursofrain · 01/03/2025 15:34

That's excellent. I'd think I was Michelangelo if I drew like that and i'm 64!

She’s 11, turning 12 in a couple of weeks.

Struggling academically and with the transition to senior school so is very stressed and increasingly lacking confidence.
I’m happy she’s finding something she enjoys and is good at.

My daughter is the same age, and also an artist. My advice - encourage and nurture it.

Creativity is so important.

She has talent and this should be encouraged suggest she has a go at drawing feet next they're notoriously difficult! I'm pretty sure I wasn't as good as that at 11 and I got into art college

Keep encouraging her. I’m an artist (self employed oil painter) and I never found anything else I truly excelled in. I struggled massively with the pressures of school. I am an intelligent and well read woman but do not test well at all. I actually did not go into formal education for these reasons.

If she enjoys it, that’s all that matters. Talent is pursued interest and there is no end to how much she can grow as an artist and how her skill can develop. It’s wonderful to see her having such an interest now. She will find her way I’ve no doubt!

EnigmaticIcelandShopper · 01/03/2025 15:51

Wow, just seen the age, these are very impressive, I would be super proud!

That's amazing! My DD is GCSE level and a good artist and I'd have thought that was her level for a good artist!
She's very talented, she should be very proud of herself and maybe if she enjoys art then follow that trajectory

LazyDaisy22 · 01/03/2025 15:53

These are amazing. You have a very talented daughter.

Wow that’s impressive, she definitely has a talent.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 01/03/2025 15:59

My DD is exactly the same age and loves art but definitely not up to this standard. She is a very talented kid OP! I hope she realises this, she should be bursting with confidence with such talent.

Hollietree · 01/03/2025 16:03

Wow amazing for an 11 year old 🥰 what a lucky child to have such a natural talent. X

Madamlulu · 01/03/2025 16:03

This is excellent. My son is doing ALevel art and has always shown talent in this subject. I think this is better than he could have done at your daughter's age.

She is very talented!

Madamlulu · 01/03/2025 16:06

I'll just add that my son struggled so much academically with secondary years. I do think the education system is biased away from creative subjects so a more creative brain can find it a challenge. This is such a shame as creative subjects are so useful. My son is much happier now doing ALevels only in subjects he is good at.

Downtoearthandsinksthesun · 01/03/2025 16:06

Absolutely amazing! She has a talent for sure!

TwoRobins · 01/03/2025 16:17

Yes, they are very good for her age! She has a talent.

Melminiani · 01/03/2025 16:20

They’re beautiful OP, how lovely that her talent is so apparent at such a young age 🤩

I normally hate these sorts of threads but I actually think these are really good - and especially if your DD is struggling academically, or with anything really, this should hopefully help her self confidence. Encourage her all the way!

Toolatenotdone · 01/03/2025 16:28

She is very talented OP, they’re great!

Wallabyone · 01/03/2025 16:35

They are fantastic! I hope she finds her rhythm at secondary school soon x

Xenomoth · 01/03/2025 16:36

I work with year 6 and we’ve had a few children who can draw like this naturally. Maybe two or three every year. They are very good!

MaloryJones · 01/03/2025 16:45

Kudos to your DD

They are very good for 11. I, too, would have thought somebody preparing for, or taking an exam in, GCSE Art.
She has a Talent there.

GroovyChick87 · 01/03/2025 14:47

Looks GCSE level but I reckon they're younger and good at drawing. 14?

If it looks gcse level then why are you then saying they are younger? If it looks like gcse level then sure you'd say 15/16

Derbee · 01/03/2025 17:05

I would’ve guessed GCSE age, but the fact that you’ve posted made me think earlier, so a very talented 12ish.

DreamingOfASilentNight · 01/03/2025 17:10

I was about to say similar to a group of the good-at-art 11 year olds at our school, then I saw your answer 😊. I'm glad drawing is a pleasure for her. It shows.
