What to do about online jacket order

I bought a new jacket because I only have one jacket and it's about 3 years old now. I needed a new jacket. I only really shop online now because I don't have e time to go into shops.

I liked this jacket online and I liked how the material said that it's cotton and I prefer clothing in natural fibers.

I bought this jacket online and it was delivered to me today.

I love the look of the jacket but I don't know about it on me. I tried it on. You see I have a big belly. All my weight goes to my belly. It fits my arms. If I tie the jacket, my belly looks too round and it looks tight tied. Leaving it open, and it's ok but then it looks a little masculine leaving it open. I don't know.

I really do like this jacket but unfortunately my belly is letting me down on this one.

Now I don't know what to do. Should I return it? Or would washing it make it relax the material and maybe make it less stiff. If I wash it I won't be able to return it. The shoulders also looks a little bit square-ish.

The jack does fit me but my belly shows more when the buttons are closed.

If you are not entirely happy I would send it back, it may not look as good when washed so I probably wouldn't do that, it's ok washing a jacket if it's dirty because then you have to but I wouldn't wash a new jacket

It might be worth posting in Style and Beauty because then people might give you ideas for an alternative

If you have to think about it this much, you probably won't ever feel confident wearing it. A longer jacket in softer material can be more flattering to a rounded middle section, and look better unbuttoned.

Return and buy the next size up?

Next size up would be huge in my arms and shoulders and chest.

You don't feel good in it. Therefore you won't wear it and it will remain in the wardrobe, taking up space and you'll always begrudge it.
Buy a gorgeous jacket you feel equally gorgeous in and send back this black one

Probably a bit short to comfortably even out a tum. If you don't feel comfortable you won't wear it.

Don’t keep it if you don’t feel good in it, I guarantee it will sit in your wardrobe and never get worn.

keep looking for a new jacket and try different styles/cuts/sizes until you find one that you like!
