Move to Dublin as a student

Hello my son is moving to Dublin for a year as part of his degree . He currently lives in the uk and we are not sure how to transport all of his living belongings there e , any ideas ?

People usually just drive. Load car, car on ferry. It's quite a pricey round trip. Plenty of Irish students do it to universities on this side of the Irish Sea.
