Normal to forget most of a hospital stay?

I spent 8 nights in hospital last year with pneumonia and a kidney infection. I don’t remember much at all - I remember being on neublisers and permanently being too hot. I was at uni at the time so far from family - I remember two student wellbeing staff coming in. Vaguely remember being washed by nurses and getting CT scans etc.

A lot of it is completely gone though - I was on a shedload of drugs, I was on IVs and morphine for most of the admission and sleeping pills for nighttime, but I don’t remember lots and lots of it. Couldn’t say what the doctors and nurses looked like, what ward I was on, etc.

I’ve spent lots of time in hospital before (endometriosis and recurrent bladder infections) and never forgotten so much.

Is it normal to just forget? It must be about a year ago now. It just feels odd having such a long gap!

With all the drugs you were on, and how crap you must have felt, I’d say it’s normal.

I've only stayed in hospital after two births and both are a bit of a blur. A combination of tiredness, drugs and feeling overwhelmed.
