Also way back when to my childhood obsession with buffy.

Yes, this role was first in my mind (then the satisfyingly annoying little sister to Buffy). She was truly excellent as precocious Harriet.

I was gutted to hear this news yesterday. I was/am a huge Buffy fan and actually met her at a convention once. She was really lovely. A little quiet, but really kind.

I had only been saying in a post online yesterday morning (hours before the news) that I hoped she would come back as Dawn in the revival as it would be great opportunity for them to improve the character!

Yes I've heard about the buffy reboot and am very excited as buffy herself is going to be in it !!
It is so sad, and young ! Has Sarah Michelle gellar reacted yet does anyone know ? I'm sure she's in shock

This is so sad. She was completely beautiful, much more so than many in Hollywood that are lauded for their looks. And I've never heard a bad word about her.

I know it's very frowned upon on mumsnet to suggest that it's a shame for a woman not to have had a family, but it does seem sad she had no husband and children. There's more to life than just work.

I agree she was beautiful and apparently no plastic surgery which is very refreshing in Hollywood.

I haven’t seen anything, but I imagine she is in shock and grieving. If I remember correctly, they were on All My Children together, and it was Sarah who recommended Michelle for the role of Dawn, so I suspect they were close and this will be a massive loss to her. She also strikes me as someone who very carefully thinks what words she is going to use before posting anything.

She was in a long term relationship but has been extremely unwell for many years now, I have no doubt this will have influenced choices she made. I know her partner has children already - it may be he didn’t want anymore (he was 20 or so years older).

Maybe she couldn't have children. Maybe she didn't want them
There's also more to life than reproducing
