Who else is devastatingly exhausted today??

Prepared to be told I’m ridiculous for asking, but I’ve been so so ridiculously tired all day today, like I can hardly put one foot in front of the other and like my eyes could close at any second and I could sleep for a week.
The odd thing is, every single person I’ve spoken to has said the same, even family far away.
I’m not woo or seriously suggesting any kind of phenomenon is causing this, but just wondered how many more of us feel the same today?

Me! All week tbh. It's all the false springs and then back to grim winter weather. It s reed with the circadian rhythms. Or something like that

Easypeasymacncheesy · 26/02/2025 19:01

Yes!! It’s been intense exhaustion today and I’ve fallen asleep 3 times!

Welshwhales · 26/02/2025 19:02

I slept for two hours this afternoon which is very unusual for me .

StasisMom · 26/02/2025 19:09

Is your period due? I'm always shattered the day before mine is.

BritishShorthair23 · 26/02/2025 18:48

Yes absolutely exhausted the last few days but when I try to sleep I cant. Dont know if I’m coming down with something though.

I feel the same as this. Exhausted but keep waking up feeling hot and with restless legs. Not normal for me so could be a mild viral illness brewing.

MissyGirlie · 26/02/2025 19:10

Me.
I'm knackered. Combo of sleeping badly and deep-cleaning the house for hours at a stretch.

StJulian2023 · 26/02/2025 19:10

Yes I am - but PMT, work, and - most of all - Y11 DS refused to go to school (again) and then set fire to college prospectus this evening (yes really!!) and announced he's not going there in Sept either, so think that would make anyone a bit weary... Confused (no one arriving to take over for a bit sadly, widowed 8+ years ago)

Rainbows89 · 26/02/2025 19:13

I was like this last week but not quite as bad this week.

the80sweregreat · 26/02/2025 19:13

It's possibly the winter blues , lack of sunshine and just how the news is just doom and gloom
Life can be exhausting sometimes

Justsewsew · 26/02/2025 19:15

I'm knackered. Yawned all through a teams meeting for an hour this afternoon then faffed about until I could come home. Got my Pj's on and considering a bowl of instant noodles for dinner because cba to even make a stir fry.

Biscuitsnotcookies · 26/02/2025 19:17

Lack of sunlight after a long winter. I felt like you, had a holiday and now back to normal.

HornyHornersPinkyWinky · 26/02/2025 19:25

I hear you OP, this week has been hard. I think it's partly because this winter has felt like it's lasted about 18 months - I'm so ready for warm spring days and a bit of sunshine.
it did seem like it was warming up a bit at the weekend, but then since Monday the weather here has been awful again - rain showers, blustery wind and biting cold. I'm so bloody sick of it, and I usually love hibernating in winter.

Also, quite a few people in work who have kids have said there are loads of colds and viruses going around this year - maybe after the few years of Covid measures, with hand washing and masks etc. they've all come back with a vengeance!

Could you all be vitamin d deficient. We are just coming out of winter? Not sure where your "far away" family are and if that might apply to them.

Also take vit D everyday and levels checked. Just the last few days I’ve been tired

TheGroovingDucksOfItchycoo · 26/02/2025 19:26

I struggle with fatigue anyway for various reasons but the last couple days have been especially bad and I'm not sure why? I know it's what the Americans call hump day and we are all sick of winter, although this week the weather has been much more spring like.

charabang · 26/02/2025 19:27

I can bearly keep my eyes open but I am recovering from a bout of noro which has drawn all the liquid from my body. I am a husk. Hoping my joi de vivre will ping back in within a day or two.

Howcoulduoudothsr · 26/02/2025 19:33

There's nothing particularly notable about today, if you asked yesterday or ask tomorrow you'd get hundreds of people feeling the same way.

I've been waking at dawn the last few days and been just lying there worried about the state of the world, it's pretty awful right now and sure that will be contributing to how people feel. It's nearly the end of February, pretty much the worst time of any year!

Coconutter24 · 26/02/2025 19:36

Yep and yesterday I even had an hour nap in the afternoon, felt really cba this week

fetchacloth · 26/02/2025 19:36

Yep me too OP - had a really disturbed night last night and consequently knackered today.

SquirrelsInSpace · 26/02/2025 19:37

Yes, me too. Thought it was because I'm processing some bad news, but maybe not.

Hedonism · 26/02/2025 19:47

So knackered.

But not unexpected. It's the tail end of winter, work is crazy busy, elderly parents are just crazy, kids aren't sleeping, and I've been running adrenaline.

Hooverino · 26/02/2025 20:01

How odd. I’ve been feeling like this for about 2 weeks. It almost feels like first trimester exhaustion (no chance it could be). I fell asleep in the afternoon last week! And have been in bed by 9pm every night. Otherwise I feel fine- just so, so tired.

EveryDayisFriday · 26/02/2025 20:04

Yes, felt like this for weeks. I've assumed it's hormonal or bescuase I'm on a low cal diet. Very poor sleeping unless I take a sleeping tablet and tired when I wake up to afternoon nap and crashing asleep at 10pm.

Normallynumb · 26/02/2025 22:30

Funny you should mention it, but I've been absolutely knackered this week, worse than normal and my sleep pattern has changed., into Nocturnal!
Luckily I don't work so don't need to be anywhere at a certain time

I've been the same for about 3 weeks. In my case I think it's the lighter mornings waking me up a bit earlier maybe. Also I get SAD syndrome and that's been really bad this winter due to the darker than normal days.
We need a brighter and warmer spring to help us snap out of this gloom 😆

NewMarmiteJar · 26/02/2025 23:46

Went back to bed at 10am this morning's and physically could not get back out until nearly 2.

I do have this disgusting cold but I was drained today.

I wonder eh.
