Would anyone like to talk to me about Bosch I-dos washing machines?

I'm in the market for a new washing machine and am looking at the Bosch range. Is the I-dos feature where it automatically measures the detergent and softener worth the extra money? I am slightly guilty of glugging in what I think is the correct dosage by eye, so in theory this could save detergent and therefore money and be a bit greener...just worried it may not work or be prone to going wrong!

Anyone got one?

I have one of those, but have never used that facility. I put powder (no plastic bottles) directly into the drum, soda crystals in the drawer. No conditioner, stopped years ago after reading how it can gum up the machine with gunk.

Laundry comes out absolutely fine.

I'm more of a powder person myself too but I've always but it in the drawers not the drum... do you put it in a dosing hall or loose?

I bung it directly onto the drum. I also only use around a third of the recommended amount and everything gets properly clean, even on a short or low temp wash.
