Colposcopy

I had a colposcopy done yesterday due to abnormal bleeding after sex and throughout the month. I have previously had two smear tests with abnormal cells.

At the beginning of the appointment the consultant was very friendly and took the time to go through everything with me. She said she would be able to give me a fairly good idea as to the results and if needed, she would take a couple of biopsies.

During the exam she said she could see abnormal cells and took 2 or 3 biopsies. Once I was changed she said that was it, results in the post and sort of ushered me out. She didn't give me any indication as to the extent of the abnormal cells or anything like that.

I'm now worrying she thinks she saw something ominous bur doesn't want to say perhaps because she isn't sure. I have to wait 4 weeks for the result and it is driving me mad .

Had anyone else had this? Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm going out of my mind with worry.

Sounds like my appointments (had them once every 6 months/a year for several years). They cannot really say too much before the results come in and then I got detailed letter explaining the findings and what next.
