Hi All,
Just a regular post to understand whether all/most men are like this please?
Let's say you walk in front of your husband with clothes inside out, would your husband notice? Or another example, let's say you only have one earring on our ears, but lost the other one, how long does it generally take your husband to notice it or would you find that out yourselves?
Just curious! :)

When I was pregnant with youngest, I had conjunctivitis really badly in both eyes. I got up one morning and both eyes were welded shut and swollen, I could only see glimmers through my crusty eyelashes. So I was groping around the house trying to get kids ready for school - XH went about his day blithely unaware that his wife couldn't see. I had a doctor's appointment that day, so I asked him if he could drive me there. He looked me direct in my swollen shut eyes that were so red I looked as though I were possessed, and said 'you're fine, why are you going to the doctor?'

One of the many many reasons he is an ex. And yes, I did have to drive myself to the doctor.

Mine is generally quite observant - new clothes, shoes, haircut etc he’s like a hawk. But when I got my first cartilage ear piercing he didn’t notice for a week and only then because I couldn’t lay on that side. And my teenage boys certainly didn’t notice (or care). I don’t bother telling him now as he’ll just eye-roll. Planning to get my nose done in the summer - that will definitely be another social experiment to see how long it takes for anyone in the household to notice!

Maybe if I had something on inside out, but a missing earring? No chance. I'm not very observant either though.

Doubt it. Took mine 2 weeks to notice I had Invisalign's.

Mine didn't notice his own hair was on fire. It was Christmas day and he leaned over the table to help our toddler cut up some of her food and a candle got his once, full-head of thick, black curly hair and voilà! Took our two toddlers yelling, "Daddy fire! Daddy fire!" Before he noticed. Our eldest threw a glass of Shloer over him, to put him out. Cheapest haircut -ever-.

I started giggle-cackling and don't think I ever stopped.

I'm sorry but this really cracked me up Grin

I once dyed my hair from bright blonde to dark brown and my husband didn't notice.

Feelinghurt2 · 02/03/2025 10:32

I also changed the lampshade in our bedroom for the kids' spiderman lampshade just to see how long it would take him to notice. It took two weeks. 😅

mindutopia · 02/03/2025 10:35

I’m not sure I would! Dh probably would because he is naturally anxious and double checks everything, probably including me. I could easily walk around for a day without noticing something is inside out.

Not clothing related but I once had a partner that didn’t notice that I’d gone from three horses to seven. I just kept getting ones in the same colours that I already had.

Finally one day when he came out with me he asked who all the others belonged to.
Me, darling. Grin

Love this.
I may try it!

Mine took a month to realise I’d stopped wearing contact lenses and started wearing glasses!

IzzyHandsIsMySpiritAnimal · 02/03/2025 10:55

I wore a jumper a few weeks ago and DH asked if it was new.
I'd worn it at leat twice before and I'd shown it to him when I originally bought it (just after Christmas).

So, no.

TaliaTalia · 02/03/2025 12:14

When our youngest was a baby I’d been sat breastfeeding her in the living room. Middle of summer, sweltering hot, was just wearing a vest top/bra type thing. Either way I hadn’t done the clasp up properly.
Did he notice I had a boob hanging out? No!
Was he in a world of trouble that he didn’t manage to notice and say something before I answered the door to the postman? Absolutely!

Pippyls67 · 02/03/2025 15:58

If I lost a limb he wouldn’t notice. If the dog looses a hair on the car seats tho he sees it straight away!
