will your husband notice that you have one earring missing/coat inside out?

Hi All,
Just a regular post to understand whether all/most men are like this please?
Let's say you walk in front of your husband with clothes inside out, would your husband notice? Or another example, let's say you only have one earring on our ears, but lost the other one, how long does it generally take your husband to notice it or would you find that out yourselves?
Just curious! :)

In answer to your question OP, I would like my husband to notice more things: you know if I wore something new or changed my makeup or hair.
But on the other hand, I get away with a lot of stuff in the house that he doesn't know about because he just doesn't notice!😏

Tumblingthrough · 25/02/2025 21:21

My DH notices everything

TheScottishPlay · 25/02/2025 22:23

Yes, he's a Virgo.

EarlierDistraction · 25/02/2025 22:33

Mine either doesn't notice or doesn't comment. I think it's mostly doesn't notice but not sure. We've been together nearly 30 years and I don't think he's ever commented on a new haircut or new glasses even when I've had 6" plus lopped off. If he saw I had a top on inside out or something that he knows I'd want to correct I think he would say. This is all fine by me, he very rarely comments on other people's appearances either which on balance is a good thing. He's probably just been brought up not to.

Bimblesalong · 25/02/2025 22:38

Nope. He didn’t notice a giant trail of marmite across my face today. When I have a hair cut and colour me and my bestie wager how many days it will take him to notice. DS2 is getting his ear pierced soon, hoping he completely misses that.

NovemberMorn · 26/02/2025 12:36

Mine has eyes like a shit house rat...as the saying goes.
Never could I get away with buying something and cracking on I have had it for ages...he would know.
It doesn't bother me, better than being ignored i suppose.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 26/02/2025 12:40

I am pretty sure he wouldn't notice one missing earring, but he would notice if my coat was inside out.

Mine didn’t notice I had had six lower front teeth removed one day.

Mine didn't notice a very dramatic haircut! I think the only time he notices my clothes is if I'm wearing something tighter or more low cut than usual, and he'll say I look nice... 😂

buffyfaithspike · 26/02/2025 13:18

I had a double lip piercing done and got "your hair looks nice, did you get it cut?"
Confused

RobinHeartella · 26/02/2025 13:27

No he wouldn't notice those examples - I've gone out with jumper inside out a fair few times!

But I'm possibly even worse. Sometimes I say wonderingly "you look really nice today, did you do something different?" And yes, he's removed his huge beard lol. He grows it and grows it till he looks like a lord of the rings character then shaves it all off periodically and I never notice.

TuesdaysAreBest · 26/02/2025 13:39

I met my DH for a formal lunch once and he had a work colleague with him. DH had a large bright green felt tip pen squiggle on his face. Both seemed unaware. Maybe colleague was too embarrassed to say, but a woman surely would have? I’m still not sure if it was funny or sad.

Chuchoter · 26/02/2025 14:32

Yes of course he would.

Rumoursofrain · 26/02/2025 14:34

Nope. He'd notice if I had no top on, but certainly not if it was inside out

StampOnTheGround · 26/02/2025 14:35

No he definitely wouldn't notice!

HerRoyalNotness · 26/02/2025 14:35

Nope. But he would criticise something I was wearing. I once wore a kind of loose beret and he blurted out “what the hell is that?” He is a dick to be fair

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 25/02/2025 21:16

My husband would probably notice things like that. When I was still living with my parents, my Dad shaved his moustache off that he had for many years. I only noticed three days later and only because it was pointed out to me.

This made me chuckle as I had the total opposite - my dad shaved his moustache off while away and I didn’t recognise him when he came back! Literally walked straight past him when he came to pick me up!
To answer @Createausername1234 question - generally anything to do with my face/head (new glasses, haircut, new lippy) gets noticed but anything below the neck, not a chance 🤣 I have form for spilling stuff down myself and have regularly been blissfully unaware of a massive stain or something that would be seen by him (if he was at all observant!) until getting home

CatsChin · 26/02/2025 15:16

Mine doesn't notice ANYTHING. But bless him, he also hasn't noticed that I've put on three stone since we met, so I'm grateful really.

Earlyird12345 · 25/02/2025 19:19

Mine didn’t notice I had had six lower front teeth removed one day.

That made me laugh out loud.

I don't think my DP would notice anything of the sort.

theboffinsarecoming · 26/02/2025 15:19

My DH has been known to not notice that he's put my coat on by mistake.

VintageFollie · 26/02/2025 15:25

Createausername1234 · 25/02/2025 19:41

Thank you Ladies. For those with husbands who are not observant, do you like it that way or wish they were more observant?

Edited

No I'd rather have an unobservant husband than a horrible, nitpicking critic, like a poster on another thread whose husband is a hairdresser and constantly criticises her appearance.

If I ever ask my unobservant husband (which I rarely do tbf) "does this look ok?", he'll say yes, you look lovely, but then you always do. Same with hairstyles. He also says I don't look any different to when we first married- we've been married 38 years! and I have to admit I do look different, but Mr unobservant just doesn't see it. I like it like that!

Pigcasso · 26/02/2025 15:27

I had my hair permed once from straight to curly, he took 5 days to notice🙄

CuthbertDribble · 26/02/2025 16:30

No, I couldn't care less that he's not observant. My dh is handsome and he's kind. He's funny and clever and he's good in bed. He is incredibly successful at work and he's a wonderful father.

johnworf · 26/02/2025 16:32

I've had botox and lip filler and he hadn't noticed.

So I asked him 'do my lips look different'? He looked at me with a puzzled look and said 'are they diagonal'? WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!

So I repeated, do I look any different and he said 'how am I supposed to know what you look like'?

We have been married 18 years. 🙈🤷

GiddyRobin · 26/02/2025 16:35

Yes, he'd notice and he'd tell me so I didn't look daft! He wouldn't sit and agonise about which shade of lipstick I'm wearing, because it's obvious I've chosen to wear it. But if I was missing an earring or managed to get my clothes muddled, he'd absolutely tell me - and has! He's the one who makes sure my hair volume powder is ruffled through if I'm in a rush, so I don't have a big white streak of the stuff, or if my lipstick has come off on my tooth, etc. I appreciate it and do the same kind of thing for him.

I'd be annoyed if he let me sit all night at a dinner party with spinach in my tooth!
